In July 2022, Cover Stables hosted a dentistry program for all the horses at the stables. This program was conducted by a team of experienced equine dentists who specialized in providing dental care for horses.

The aim of the program was to ensure that all the horses at the stables had proper dental care and hygiene. Dental issues in horses can cause a range of problems, such as difficulty chewing, weight loss, and even behavioral issues. By providing regular dental care to the horses, the stables could ensure their overall health and well-being.

The dentistry program involved a comprehensive dental examination for each horse, during which the dentists checked the teeth, gums, and oral cavity for any abnormalities. They also checked for signs of dental issues such as tooth decay, gum disease, and malocclusions.

Based on the examination, the dentists developed a customized dental care plan for each horse, which included procedures such as teeth floating, filing, and extraction, if necessary. Teeth floating involves smoothing down the sharp edges of the teeth to prevent injury to the horse's cheeks and tongue, while filing involves reshaping the teeth to improve their alignment. Tooth extractions are only performed when absolutely necessary and are done under anesthesia.

The dental program also included education for the staff and horse owners on the importance of proper dental care for horses. They were taught how to identify signs of dental issues and how to maintain proper dental hygiene for their horses.

The program was a huge success, and all the horses at the stables received the necessary dental care and attention they needed. The horses' overall health and well-being improved significantly, and the stables continued to provide regular dental care to their horses, ensuring that they remained healthy and happy.
